Asst. Prof. Dr. SMA Alim

Asst. Prof. Dr. SMA Alim is a Dhaka-based specialist in interventional pain medicine. The doctor's qualifications include MBBS, MD (DMC), EDPM (UK), GOPF (USA) and FIPM (India), alongside fellowship training in pain interventions and musculoskeletal ultrasound in Germany and India. Dr. Alim is an Assistant Professor in Anaesthesia at Bangladesh Medical University (PG Hospital), and previously led the Anaesthesia department as Chief Consultant at Central Police Hospital in Dhaka. Pain that keeps interrupting sleep or everyday tasks can be difficult to live with. Dr. Alim treats problems including osteoarthritis, cancer-related pain, rheumatic pain, frozen shoulder, neck pain and spine-related conditions. Additional training covers both short-term and persistent pain, laser PLID and acupuncture. For consultations, patients can visit Proshanti Hospital Limited in Dhaka between 2.30pm and 9pm, Saturday through Thursday. The chamber is closed on Fridays.
