A directory has to publish some things and protect others. This page sets out exactly where DoctorBangladesh.bd draws that line — what is recorded when you use doctorbangladesh.bd, why it is recorded, which parts are visible to every visitor, which parts never leave our systems, and what you can ask us to do about any of it.

1. Where this policy applies

Everything below applies the moment you open doctorbangladesh.bd — whether you are simply reading a profile, writing to us, putting a practice forward for listing, sending paperwork for a verification check, or rating a doctor you have seen. Patients, doctors, chamber staff, hospital administrators and their appointed representatives are all covered.

2. What a listing submission asks for

A practice cannot be published without enough detail to check that it is real and to describe it accurately, so a submission form gathers the following.

About the sender: full name, email, phone, how they are connected to the doctor, where they heard about us, and any note they attach.
About the doctor: name, BMDC registration number, degrees, disciplines treated, current designation, place of work, years in practice, biography and a photograph.
About the practice: chamber or hospital name, street address, the number patients ring for a serial, sitting days and hours, and the consultation charge.
Where a paid listing tier is switched on, the payment reference — plus the originating IP address, kept as an audit trail against fraudulent submissions.
Any certificates or licences uploaded during a verification check, together with their file metadata.

3. Reading, writing in, and leaving a rating

Browsing needs no sign-in and no personal detail whatsoever. Information reaches us only when you deliberately send it — a message, a correction, a listing request or a review.

A message through the contact form carries your name, email, an optional subject line, the message body and your IP address.
A review carries your name, email, phone number, the star rating, whatever you choose to write, and your IP address.
We ask for an email and phone on reviews purely to stop the same person rating one doctor over and over, or flooding a profile with abuse.
Nothing appears until a moderator clears it. What goes live is the reviewer name, the rating, the text and the date — never the email, the phone number or the IP address.

4. What the servers record on their own

Ordinary web traffic leaves a trail whether or not you fill in anything. We keep that trail to run the site, spot faults, sharpen search results and identify abuse.

Your IP address, browser and device, operating system, the page you came from, the page you asked for, and the time you asked.
What you searched for and which results you opened — this is what tells us the search box is returning the wrong consultants.
Cookies and browser storage strictly needed for your theme choice, session security and app-like features.
Aggregate measurement from Google Analytics or Microsoft Clarity, but only while an administrator has those switched on.

5. What we do with it

Information is put to work only where it genuinely serves running, protecting or improving DoctorBangladesh.bd.

Publishing, checking, correcting and keeping doctor and hospital records current.
Screening reviews, blocking duplicates, chasing spam, and recalculating a doctor's public rating once a review clears moderation.
Answering questions, correction requests, listing applications, verification submissions and support mail.
Watching for security incidents, tracing bugs, measuring how pages perform and making search return better matches.
Holding the paper trail that shows why a moderation, verification or administrative call was made.

6. The public half and the private half

A directory is only useful if professional details are open to everyone. The material sent to us in confidence is kept on the other side of that line.

Open to all: a doctor's name and photograph, degrees, disciplines, BMDC number, workplace, chamber details, fees, sitting hours and the appointment number.
Open to all: the reviewer's display name, star rating, written review and the date it was approved.
Never published as directory content: private email addresses, reviewer phone numbers, IP addresses, payment references, internal notes, moderation history and verification paperwork.
Please keep medical records, treatment histories, passwords and unnecessary identity documents out of public forms and review text — a moderator cannot unsee what has already been typed.

7. Who else may see it

Private information is never sold or rented. A narrow set of parties may handle it where operations or the law require.

The technical suppliers behind the site: hosting, database, file storage, mail delivery, security and analytics.
A doctor, hospital or authorised representative, where we need their side of the story to settle a disputed profile detail.
Regulators, courts, government bodies or the police, where a valid legal instrument compels disclosure.
Legal advisers or comparable parties, where it is reasonably needed to protect users, resolve a dispute or defend a claim.

8. Cookies, measurement and advertising

Your browser settings decide which cookies you accept. Turning off essential storage will break saved preferences and parts of the interface.

While measurement tools are enabled, their operators process usage data under their own terms, linked below. Should advertising technology ever be added, it would set its own identifiers under the ad provider's policy. No advertiser is ever given contact messages, reviewer contact details, payment references or verification documents from our records.

9. Keeping it safe, and how long we keep it

Sensible administrative and technical safeguards protect what is stored. Reaching private submissions, reviewer contact details, contact messages, moderation records or verification files requires authorised administrative access, and only where the work demands it.

That said, no system on the internet is impregnable — send us the minimum your request needs. Records are held for as long as it takes to run the directory, finish a moderation or verification, satisfy a legal duty, deter repeat abuse or see out a dispute. Different record types are kept for different lengths of time.

10. Asking us to change or remove something

You are entitled to ask what we hold, have it corrected or updated, or have it deleted. A doctor or an authorised representative can equally ask for a listing to be amended or taken down. Expect us to confirm who you are and that you have the standing to ask before we act.

A few records survive such a request — where the law requires it, where deleting them would undermine fraud prevention, or where they evidence a moderation or legal decision. Start any privacy request from the Contact page.
